i just purchased a 94 gt, and it came with a box of parts in the truck and i was digging threw it today to see what was in there and i found a rack and pinion gear set, 3.73 to 1, what would the stock mustang come with, and what would i gain in aceleration and what would i lose in fuel economy, it runs about 2000rpm at 65mph in 5th from what i can remember.it is a 5 speed and the trans does whine (so i hear that all T5's do) but it seems that it is excessivly loud and even the local shop said it seemed loud, what could cause this and how can i fix it short of getting a new trans, and also i know this is way out there but is there a 6speed that would fit with not to much modification, i rebuilt a 67 mustang so doing work is no problem i just dont know much about these cars. one more thing, what would be a great road racing/driveable suspension system that wont break my wallet.

Yea I think he meant RING and pinion gear set.

Also, there is not a good road racing suspension that isnt going to break your wallet. But check out MaximumMotorsports and just drool all over yourself
