cam choices
hello mustang people, Im from the other side (ls1)
I have a wonderfull girl friend that is one of "you people" she has a '89 5.0 GT.
Well she loves here baby and I want to get her a new toy for it....
I was thinking a new cam but I know nothing about 5.0s so Im turning to all of you. I was looking on summit and I saw a few Hydraulic Roller cams that I thought would be nice, but again I know nothing about 5.0s what would be too crazy for a dd, but she does want an agrasive sound at the stop light.
Also what other parts are needed (springs, retainers or whatever) for the cam you would recomend.
thank you all for you help
Will

RE: cam choices
if she has stock heads on her 5.0 it is a waste of time and money.
you might gain 5-10 horses, but trade off driveability etc.
some racers in real street are going 11's with the stock cam. it is actually a pretty nice piece...

RE: cam choices
AFR 165cc's and Trick Flow are both very respectable companies. AFR's are a bit more expensive, but some say they are worth the money.
Heads would definately help, but you're looking upwards of a grand for some nice aluminum ones.
