clutch cable help please?

I have a lakewood blow proof bellhousing, stock but new clutch cable, and new clutch. The cable seems like its too short and wont reach. Is it because i used the stock fork with the bellhousing? do i need to get an adjustable one? please help asap!? thanks guys
