If you prep them well enough you shouldnt have any problems painting them.

Go into the detailing section... there is a sticky on everything you will need (supplies, etc.)

yes alot of times the dealer will paint-dye plastic trim pieces

sand the parts down using a light grit so the paint has something to stick to

if it cant stick.. it wont last

I wiped mine down with brake cleaner then painted it, it lasted a year now, there are a couple of scuffs where something rubbed on it, but it still sticks.
