Engine Swap 89 GT

I have a 1966 mustang without a working engine and I want to swap in an 89 GT engine. Do anyone know where I can get some information on such a swap?

did the '66 have a 302 or 289 in it before?

if so, no problem, just switch over to carb set-up and dump
the EFI stuff.
