Default Smog pump eliminator question

I wanted to know if any problems would arise by eliminating the smog pump with one of those alum. fly wheels. also does it give any HP? i had to get rid of the smog pump anyway since it was starting to whine

Why spend so much money to eliminate it? Take it off, and just get a shorter belt.

Be sure to block off any of the hoses that were connected to it though.

I mocked up the No Eliminator Pulley trick, but it would not work on my 351w block.

If that belt rubs on itself it will wear out rather quick.

Summitt has a couple of pulleys available.
