Default Well, I f**ked up!!!!!!!

I put edlebrock heads (1.90 intake 1.60 exhaust) on my car that came off my friends totaled gt. I also bought scorpion 1.6 roller rockers, ford racing hardend pushrod, Arp hex head studs, flepro headgaskets, 24# injectors, and Accurfab 70mm throttle body and E.G.R.
I was all done and drove it around came back to change the oil, and noticed that the passanger side head bolt was leaking coolant from the stud (not the head gasket). their is actually two leaking, i think number 4 and 10 i think.. So i called my friend, and he told me i forgot to put rtv on the water jacket bolts.. so i F**ked up i guess..

Also when i took it for a test drive it had really good top end but low end really sucked!!! any suggestions?

Which bolts do you have to use thread sealer on....I am going to be putting on a TFS intake soon and little tips like that would help me out.

I didn't use thread sealer on my intake bolts..But don't use that cork gasket they give you for the lower intake use rtv..

woah hold on here man

you have screw in studs not head bolts, are the studs rtv in the block? as well as the part where the headgasket is? Dont be afraid man lay it away, I took my motor apart for the same thing , its easy to do.

Second where are your intake gaskets that go on the front and rear of block? they should be two blue curved things and rtv on the corners where they meet the head gaskets.

Third the heads, lower intake and the plenum has a procedure to tighten the bolts down in a very funky way, did you follow that>?

Autozone has some nice felpro kit $7 all intake gakes, upper, lower, front and rear, dizzy o -ring, idle air motor, plenum etc all in that kit.

If you forgot to put RTV on the lower studs, remove one stud at a time, add RTV, re-install and retorque. Only the lower holes are open to the coolant passage.

I assume you have the stock cam and FP regulator so, start out with 12^ base (spout out) timing.
Also, check TPS sensor.
Nice, clean ride BTW.
