My DOT lable on my door states my car was manufactured 8/88. The title for my car states the car is a 1989.. I am currently going through a difficult time getting things in order for my car to clear USA Customs. Should the date on the DOT lable be the same on my title?? This could mean I baught a stolen car...

Your car should be an 89. Usually car manufactuer will start making the new model year around july or august.
