Default Installing 1970 351w heads onto a '91 302 HO

I am needing to know what mods, if any, need to be done for me to install a set of '70 351w heads onto my '91 302 HO. The heads are 60 cc, with the large valves. As far as I see all I need to do is install the heads, 351 head bolts, 351 intake, and possible push rods. Is there anything that I have missed. And yes for those that may ask, I am getting rid of the fuel injection and going carbureted (cheaper to go fast carbureted than fuel injected). I am going to experiment from 600 to 750 and see which gives best performance.

head bolt inserts since 351's use a 1/2 inch head bolt and the 302's use a 7/16ths. 650 carb is plenty

thats my setup lol

1.anyhow head inserts, the holes in the 351w heads bigger than a 302.

2. 351 heads miss the polution ports in rear, i loved that, id didnt like the tube on there anyhow.

3. Get thin racing ROL headgaskets for more compression, and or the heads shaved .10, i did both, very cheap !

4. USE HARDENED pushrods STOCK 302 lenghth etc. OH and yeah top it off with some 1.7 roller rockers or just use stock 1.6.

I run 13.4 in the quarter and AOD tranny, all day long and am very pleased with those heads.

you can run fuel injection just fine, its a direct bolt on.

see that bolt, there is a circular piece in the hole that reduces its size, just pushes in like a button, very easy! Also 1.6 ratio roller rockers and hardened stock pushrods.

the real downside to those heads, is if you run a spring with 175+ on the seat, you run the risk of pulling the pressed in rocker stud out.

Spring pressure. Not NAWS.

no spring pressure, if you run a valve spring that has 175lbs+ of pressure closed on those stock 351 heads you can run the risk of pulling out the pressed in rocker studs. Those heads when used with a serious cam that needs a good amount of spring pressure to control the valves really need screw in studs, or at a minimum, pin the pressed in studs

i never knew stock ones came like that, my studs are screw in studs, rated at a very high tensile strength. I love machine shops[8D]
