more power!!!
ok i installed a set of AFR 165 heads and a track heat intake to my car, got 99% of the bugs worked out but now the check engine light is on and i tried to make my car idle @1000 and it wont...it either idles around 850 or jumps to 1600...anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I wont be able to check this again til tomorrow whenever i am at school so any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
I installed an E cam about 3 months ago and had no problems then so i am just kinda curious as to what would make the check engine light come on now...i checked all my electrical connections, but still nothing is obvious. after i get to school tomorrow i can put a scanner on it but kinda wanted some advice with experience. Thanks in advance

another victim . u guys
the intake manifold has a very touchy procedure and bolt pattern you MUST follow when you tighten it down, if the procedure is not followed for upper or lower manifold, you will not establish a proper seal.
In your case the ecm is trying to compensate for the intake leak and keep ur car running

I've heard of two ways to bolt down the intake manifolds, what is the "correct" way?

only go by the procedure.
you will notice everytime you go over and over the procedure each bolt you thought was tight is now loose! thats why you to go over the PROCEDURE 4 times before a final EVEN seal is created.
this event will not occur doin it any other way

the car runs good i just can t adjust the idle to 1000 it runs fine at just a lil lean at 800, and i have had the brake booster hose off and that never thrrew a check engine light before so i dont think its the fact i dont have the intake sealed properly.
