Default Why is it that...

When ever I have changed a clutch in a vehicle, the vehicle has always felt slower after the swap? I have personally changed the clutches on four of my own motorcycles before and noticed this. Also, I had the clutch changed on a 97 or 98 Cobra that I owned (for ten days), and also noticed that the car was slower after the clutch change. I think the effect is only temporary though. Has anyone else noticed this?

your supposed to break it in before you get on it you could possibly be slipping it a little if you get on it before it gets seated(broke in).

i never notice it. i change it and test drive to make sure its good then take it out on the highway and do some highspeed gear changes. and slip it from a stop a few times to wear it in.

Definitely. Well, I noticed it not just when thrashing the vehicles--even when just driving them normally after a swap. There was never any slipping when I noticed this though. My car is in the shop as we speak, getting the clutch replaced. I'm just anticipating that it will feel slower when I get it back. By the way, thanks for the quick replies.
