Default rear end wheel play

If I grab my rear wheel and give it a good push and pull I get about 1/8 of an inch play. I can do the same to the other side and it moves about the same. I have to really shake the wheel to get it to move. Any thoughts on what this next dent to my wallet is going to run me???
