Default Cam Help!!

Hey guys, I'm thinking about putting a new cam in my car ('93 LX 5.0 h.o), but I don't really know which one to go with. I see how a lot of guys are using the "E-303" cams in their 5.0 stangs and I was just wondering if that would be a good one to go with for street use, and if so, about how much hp would I gain? and would it be worth the money spent? Thanks

Alright thanks, but by choppy do you mean like rough?... because i was hoping to get one with fairly decent idle quality. And with that one how much hp did you pick up? and around how much does it cost? Thanks again for the help.

he's right about the racing b cam but you should probably go E303 that cam will give you gains and is also 50 state legal....

Cam is going to be around $200 and another $100 in gaskets, plus 8-12hrs of labor (depending on experience). You sure a new cam is your next logical mod?

most cams of decent size dont have much gains unless intake is changed...usually a intake nd cam and cold air induction is worth around 20-40 hp
on avg..there sre exceptions..

The cam is not worth changing as long as your heads are still bone stock. Get some different heads and an intake and put some 1.7's on it. The heads are restrictive enough that you won't notice too big of a difference by changing the cam.

Try getting a different intake and a larger MAF first. You'll notice bigger gains from those.
