Default Clutch acting weird

howdy yall.

anyways, i noticed today(never noticed it before) that my clutch is acting weird. everytime i go to change gears and push the clutch in, it revs my engine a good 300-400rpm. for example i usually shift at about 1800rpms, so push in clutch to shift and it goes up to 21 or 2200. it feels like it might be caught on the accelerator cable, but i'm not sure. any insight would the great. again, today is the only day i've noticed it.
