RE: another dumb question o' the day
one is compression the other is rebound. not sure which is which, I believe it's the resistance to compression (when the wheel is going closer to the fender), and rebound (when the wheel is going further away from the fender)

RE: another dumb question o' the day
From the total resistance of the shock piston to travel inside its cylinder...the percentage applied on either stroke (compression/extension)...a 50/50 is a "balanced" shock, same resistance in each direction.... a 90/10 has a 90% higher resistance to compress and 10% resistance to extend....they are used for drag racing in the front struts to allow a quicker weight transfer to the rear wheels....and if you do a wheels up start (yeah right)....you have a stronger resistance in the compression stroke, to dampen the fall of the front end.....Check http://www.competitionengineering.co...?CatCode=10333

okay, so for struts 90/10, and it means that they spring backand they decompresses faster to put force on the the rear (to pop some wheelies all day!!) and 50/50 would be good for rear shocks then?
