Radiator options
I blew a hole in my radiator last night. The car is an almost daily driver. What should I go with?
1) 3 row copper/brass
2) 2 row copper/brass
3) 3 row aluminum
4) 2 row aluminum
Weight is not a concern for me. The brass radiators I can get for about 80-100 bucks. The aluminum is like 250. Any suggestions? I need to keep this car reliable.
Thanks

RE: Radiator options
3 row copper/brass for your application, while your in there change to a 180* thermostat from 192* factory, runs much cooler and is only $10
post a poll and you'll get a better idea of peoples thoughts, or try a 6 month search. good luck

RE: Radiator options
if your car is stock an you dont have cooling problems i would go with the cheaper rad... if, however, your car is modded up or will be, i would go with an aluminum rad... my preference is fluidyne... mine is a 2 core, but the tubes are wider an similar to a 4 core in cooling but flows with less resistance than a 4 core...

3 row copper/brass....... I have actually heard from many different people that copper/brass radiators cool better than aluminum.... they make them in aluminum strictly for weight issues.
Thats what I hear anyway. BTW, I have a 3 row copper rad that I got for $160.

actually copper/brass (the metal) will disapate heat faster, thus a good choice for a rad... aluminum can collect more heat than copper/brass thus havin a better ability to take heat from the coolant... it's not just aboot weight... an that's the limit of my physics...
