Default is this possible?

just out of curiosity... can a starter that gets unneeded heat cause an idling problem? for example, my starter needs a heat shield b/c my headers r causing too much heat to the starter, when my car starts up the idle is perfect, after a while tho the car begins to idle to the point of stalling, i no it could be a number of problems, but has any1 ever heard of an idle problem due to an overheated starter? thanks

the starter does not make the car idle, the starter is for the sole purpose of starting. try this for idle problems.

No more than a complimentary bag of peanuts can cause a 737 turbulence.

get a 190 lph fuel pump and your problems will be solved. i had that same problem only when it was hot and humid and my car would stall and not start for a few minutes then i could start it again and it would die again then i put a 190 fuel pump in and i havent had problem since and thats been 3yrs, trust me i was told it was all these other things but it came down to being my fuel pump
