Well Longtubes generally drag and its hard and painful on the old hands to change spark plugs. I'm sure its hard now with the manifolds..think about longtubes. [] It always looks like a cat got ahold of your hands.

1 1/2 inch shorties are like stock no gain..id go with 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 shorties equal length... nut unequal is just 1-3 hp less... long tubes offer more torq down low usually the scavenging effect .. the collector is where the exhaust is more or less restrictive... in size.. remember bigger isnt allways better...i have run open pipes in a 2 inch exhaust less noise and gr8 torq..moretorq then 2 1/2s with flowmaters... or straight 2 1/2s///

I dont have any trouble reaching plugs with the BBK longs. I had to take some of them out to get the headers in though.

Hellas85stang............I will be installling MAC longtubes. The yahoo before me just whacked off two of the cats and left two. I am not sure what mufflers but they are not straight thrus.......I think they are double cylinders? ( or what ever they call them). I think the car sounds pretty good but want more rumble (H-pipe maybe?) But the main thing is HP>>>>>I am sure whatever tone I get I will be happy//////

your thoughts???

If you want it to sound good get some good muffler (flowmaster is what is mainly used) then get a h-pipe to get he rumble (x-pipe is supposed to be kinda raspy) then get bascially any kind of headers. Long and shorts both sound good. Like I said earlier you lose a little bit of the idle rumble with longs but when you open it up it comes right back. I know i perfer the longs over the shorts that were previously on the car.

The BBKs seemed to really be tucked up under the car. They do hang a little lower than a pipe but not much. Today I went over a bump that everybody scraps the living **** out of (road tells it all) and I didnt scrap. Ill get some pics of how tucked up the BBKs are tomarrow.
