shakey rpm gague
so in my '92 i notice that below 2,000 rpm ... as the needle comes up it's kinda' "shakey" ... but after 2,000 it goes up smoothly ... my engine runs and sounds fine *knock on wood* ... so think it's just my gague acting quirky?

yeah ... i had a old bmw that the speedo did that ... and i've seen quite a few other cars over the years with that prob. and 99% of the time it's the cable. but the tach is not cable opperated so i'm not sure why it's doing that???? [&:]

Well, my gauge did that too... Every now and then it would bounce. Then one night I was stranded until 5 am. My Ignition Module decided it wanted to die. Not saying thats whats causing your issue, but my Tach was doing something similar to you. And that was related to my Ignition Module about to die...

recently my alt. went out on my 89 lx,i had the alt checked the diodes were gone in my alt. anyway my tach was shakey at lower rpms. but over 2000 rpms it leveled out. might want to make sure all you electrical connections are solid , if so check alt to be sure its not on its way out.alot of electrical problems stem from poor or loose connections.hope this helps
