Default shakey rpm gague

so in my '92 i notice that below 2,000 rpm ... as the needle comes up it's kinda' "shakey" ... but after 2,000 it goes up smoothly ... my engine runs and sounds fine *knock on wood* ... so think it's just my gague acting quirky?

My speedo needle is bouncy like that. I'm not sure if it's the guage or the cable.

Well, my gauge did that too... Every now and then it would bounce. Then one night I was stranded until 5 am. My Ignition Module decided it wanted to die. Not saying thats whats causing your issue, but my Tach was doing something similar to you. And that was related to my Ignition Module about to die...

ya the same **** happened to me. my speedo was shakey as hell. then my car just decided to die while i was driving... ugh i thought it was the blaster coil so i replaced that then it worked for about a mile then died again... ahh so after $250 in parts (blaster coin, ignition module, plugs, wires, cap/rotor) then i f8cked up my timing tryin to replace the module and it cost an extra $250ish for the shop to come tow it and adjust the timing...

recently my alt. went out on my 89 lx,i had the alt checked the diodes were gone in my alt. anyway my tach was shakey at lower rpms. but over 2000 rpms it leveled out. might want to make sure all you electrical connections are solid , if so check alt to be sure its not on its way out.alot of electrical problems stem from poor or loose connections.hope this helps
