ok so ive noticed that when i push on the gas to accelerate that i can kinda hear like the pistons firing but its a little diff. it might be this infamous "pinging" that ive been hearing about. but i dont kno what that sounds like for sure. like when it idles or im cruisin at a conctant speed there is nothing. but when i push the gas there it is again. its not loud or anything but little things that are wrong tend to **** me off lol. does n e one kno what this is? and how would i go about fixing it or can i not fix it....

Well pings come from bad gas or setting your timing too high............that valve clattering sound. Not loud but very disturbing...........I know what you mean if thats what it is.

hmm mabe i just put some S&S gas in this bad larry. but hmm its like like soft piston firing or something when i touch the gas pedel i dont like this at all. im very particular about things and the littlest noise or rattle drives me nuts

If you just advanced your timing then surely that would be it......................

If you have not and just noticed it starting to happen then you may want to put some 'heat" or some other type additive to remove water that may be in the gas.

I know what you mean. Especially right after you clean your car and it smells all pretty and looks badass and when you get it on it you here some MFing noise coming from under the hood.....!

hahaha i just cleaned my car yesterday.. armorall, and vacumed it lol and then today i notice the noise... ahh but i did get my timing fixed not too long ago cuz i pulled the distributor out to change the ignition module and i facked it up.. but that was oh 700mi ago
