C4 question

C4 question
Anyone running one of the 1000hp C4's that are in Summit or one of the Art Carr C4s? Im wanting a bullet proof automatic with a trans break, anyone have any suggestions? What about buying used? To risky or is it worth the savings?

The motor im building is going to be around 600hp or so with some nitrous, so im wanting something to handle this. Auto or manual i dont care, just want something bullit proof and its going to be nice not to have to worry about breaking every damn thing every run. Been through 3 T5's so its time for a change.
Any body have any suggestions? Comments? Anything?

They in about the $1500-$2000 range...the fiancee said thats all i got to spend....building me a drag car to get my name out there some...gettin ready to head off to Wyotech so need to start getting things in order.
Ive heard of Lyntech...nice stuff...i would imagine its pretty $$$...but thats a tranny for ya...

Well...thats a little more than im wanting to spend....Err..let me re-phrase that...a little more than she is going to let me spend.
I think im just gonna look around in the paper for one. Lol....Im wanting a C4, C6's are much stronger but eat up more hp, i know someone who just did a switch from a C6 to a C4 and he gained 43rwhp. That was a big shocker for most people that knew him.
Maybe i can find something on Ebay....

Some really smart peeps were using C-4 guts in the C-6 cases in stock eliminator in NHRA till they got caught.
Sure worked good.
I also know that there are some of those cars that use MOPAR 727 internals but you lose the park feature of the trans.
They where also caught......
I'm told that ANY C-6 uses 45 HP just to operate and the C-4 uses about 25........

two of the guys in my club are running PA C4's. one is a 350hp 65 mustang and the other is a 600hp 03 cobra. only problem is they have both made them leak. it was a quick fix but they can take the power.
