Default Everyone with bbk equals!!! help

I finally got my headers in today (bbk equal length shorties) and the stearing shaft rubs on one of the pipes.... it makes it harder to turn the wheel and will probably rub a hole in the header eventually?

did anyone else have this problem? anyone have any ideas??

Yup, take some shims/washers, jack up the motor and slide them in under the mount. Problem solves.

Sorry for the delay, been very busy and not on here as much this week. No, it will not hurt anything. Put a block of wood between the jack and the oil pan. Disconnect the d/s motor mount nut and start jacking. You only need it to go up about 3/8", that's not too much. Good luck.

While you are at it you should replace the engine mounts, that is probably what is causing the headers to hit.

That is a very good possibility.

i put bbk equal length ceramic coated headers in last fal and had no clearance issues, and the motor mounts are in mint condition, that may be the culprit... god luck and good choice on the headers

One more question, can I buy the motor mounts from an auto parts store, or would I have to order themfrom the dealer?

thanks
