Cam Shaft question

Cam Shaft question
Hello My Name is Filip and this is my first time on this forum but I would like to know if getting a different camshaft for my 94 GT will mess up the idle bad. I have heard before that it will but I would like to be sure. If I do get the cam should I also invest in lifters and springs? Thank you for checking this out and for the help.
