Default removing back seats....

how hard is it to do and is it worth the time. i cant have passengers in the rear anyway do to huge dr and rubbing isssues so i was going to pull them. what would i gain. maybe a tenth or so?

I'm about to do the same thing. You're not going to get a tenth just from the seats. I think the total weight for all the back seats is like 60lbs or so. If you can shed 100lbs., then you'll be looking at dropping a tenth. I think the removal is pretty straight forward.

if you have the 87-93 you just have to unhook them from the clips its real easy. and those things are super light...oh wait i guess thats only for verts and notchs... not sure hatches are the same....

i took the back seats out of my '86 vert and saved maybe 15 lbs? all i had to do was wiggle them around a bit to unlatch them and they come out with no tools.

First thing I did was take the seats out(89 hatch). Unhooked them from the cover things on the back, and then there was some brackets on the sides and some bolts in the back center. One of them was a PITA to get at, but I go it. Took maybe 15 minutes. They're not much weight at all. Took way more out by getting rid of that carpet padding(sound dampening?) bull**** in the trunk.

yea i would say your saving 30 lbs TOPS if they are the same as mine., thats why mine are still back there even thogh no one sits back there it looks nice...
