Default gt-40 or gt-40p

I was thinking of getting either GT-40 heads or GT-40p heads. Before you automatically say GT40 are better because GT-40p come off an explorer, do some little research first. If you know what Im talking about, then tell me if you guys think i should go with GT-40 or gt-40p's cause alot of other things need to be changed to use gt-40p (such as headers and sparkplugs for sure. not sure if i could use the valves or valve springs from the gt-40p on my car, or if i could use the same rods or rockers, if you know please tell.) im pretty sure the normal GT40 will bolt up on my 5.0 without changing anything(right?)

So basically do you guys think the little extra punch from the GT40p are worth it? also if my MAC shorty headers would fit on the GT40p(some sites say it can). and if i missed anything else please tell.

Either GT-40's would be nice, i think the P's are a little better though, not by alot though (it could be the other way around...i may be confused.)
I know the BBk long tubes will work on the P's without the sparkplug problems cause the pipes come out from the heads farthur and allow more room for them. Either heads will bolt right onto a stock 5.0 without any change, the stock 5.0 pushrods will work fine also. Good luck...have them ported while they're off, youll thank god you did it.

I think the 95 to 97 Explorer's are GT 40 and the 97 1/2 to 2001 are GT-40P but i dont know i ther its a gain of HP because there are Caston Iron ..
In my case some person is saleing me a hole 2000 Explorer engine for $500 it comes from the oil pan to the GT 40 intake should i buy it?

Thats a good deal, jump on it. Strip the motor down and take what you want from it and sell the fuel injection harness, and all the other stuff you dont want. Make sure you get the ECU with it.

you're confused on your GT-40 heads........

GT-40 .... little better than stock
GT-40P ..... little better than the GT-40
GT-40X ...... $1000 aluminum, much better than stock
GT-40Y ....... same as X just not as good
GT-40Z ....... aluminum race head

go with the P's to save money, but you might have header
fitment issues with the spark plugs.
