Results from the track!!!

RE: Results from the track!!!
lol, that's what my boss and his buddy kept telling me, I was trying, but most of the time I was just so caught up in the moment, well ya know... first time to the track and all with only 3 runs... But yeah, I'm going to go down on a test and tune night and get like 15-20 runs in and see how low and consistant I can actually get er. I can't wait to go back. Oh and I'm getting the stall very early next month (I've still got a tool box payment and a car payment to make). And the drag radials will come right after that, I'm expecting to see high to mid 13's with the corrected times.

yeah the stall will help nicely. and with the drag radials, youll hook like no ones business. i still say get the shift kit though. you'll be impressed with what itll do for ya. whats your timing set at, by the way? and what rpm are you launching at?
that test and tune will help you, believe me. you'll be amazed at what you can do when theres no pressure on you and when you dont have a moment to get caught in haha

Well right now the stock converter is only letting me launch at 1300-1400 rpms, and on the launch I have some undesired tire spin. My timing is at 15 degrees with 87 octane.

RE: Results from the track!!!
any wheelspin at all is unwanted. stalling it to 1400 is hurting your times. try 800-1000 rpms and ease into the throttle. you want to be on the verge of the tires breaking loose. if you do this i dont see why you cant get 2.1-2.2 60' times. the higher stall speeds come with better traction.

you should get yourself an extra pair of stock rims and put slicks on them. That would be better than paying for new tires all the time bc they have terrible treadwear bc they are so sticky

I plan on getting a set of cheapo 16 inch wheels and putting M/T's on them.

With some drag radials or slicks I bet you could get into high 14's at least no problem. Those 60' times really suck, I've hit a 2.0 60 ft and thats stalling the car to 1800 and with m/t et streets bias ply's.
