hi i have a 93 5.0 mustang and it just hasent been running right, ive tried to set the timing and sometimes it will run fairly good and other times it wont run good at all, i just put a scanner on it and found two things, first code #94 thermactor air system innoperable, and code #44 secondary air system innoperable. i think the secondary air system is part of the thermactor air system just on the other side, anyways i have know idea what the thermactor air sytem is, can someone please explain to me what this is and also i have know idea of how t go about fixing this, what do i have to check on it to get this problem solved, i would be very happy if anybody cuold tell me any info and how i can go about fixing this i have no idea what it is thanks a lot, PLEASE ANY INFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a solenoid thats controlled by the EEC-IV computer and makes vacuum to the Air Bypass/Air Control Valve. that lets air flow through the secondary air injection system. With no vacuum the air from the air pump is just released outside. this turns the secondary air injection system on or off. the secondary air injection system adds air to the cats to improve the burning of NOx gases. and that reduces emissions. It's not used on the newer stangs anymore I dont think, and if yours is carbed there should be hoses that run under your carb and then back down to the solenoids.... You might want to buy a manual for your year of stang and itll show diagrams.....
