83 5.0, non roller lifters, edelbrock 289 intake, Holley 600cfm, GT40P heads, Mac long tubes, mostly just for cruising the street...

I hear people talk about the alphabet cams, E303 and such, but they seem to be outdated... I know i'm looking for something just under .500 of lift, the gt40p's don't flow to good over that. i'm just not sure on the other specs. I'd like to get a cam kit with the lifters.
um, won't work, you need a flat tappet cam, not a roller cam

I looks like I don't really know enough about this to actually do it. I've been searching and reading for days and can't come up with anything... Looks like the motor is just going to get a new timing chain and it'll have to live with the stock cam and heads... The stock cam probably isn't that bad, i believe its 260/278 and .416/.444 Thats probably good enough, I'll save the new heads until I understand this stuff more.
