Default Roller rockers

So pardon my ignorance, but what exactly does upgrading to 1.6 or 1.72 roller rockers do for you? I have alot of insurance money left over from before and I'm looking at a new TB, MAF, injectors, fuel pump, a fenderwell CAI, and just figured I'd see what RR's are all about. Thanks guys.

LoL, I'm not mad, it's just funny how everyone else's threads are active and this one isn't. Add to that the fact that nobody ever replies to my threads. Ever.

it will take the lift on the stock cam from .445 to .473. it does not affect the duration. it was used on the cobra motor and as you can see it was onlu rated for 10hp more than a 205 stock 5.0 h/o. funny thing is the motor did not change at all from 1992 when it was rated at 225hp, the drop was ford attempt to rate the motor more "honestly". unless you are willing to change the heads all other mods are pretty much useless. teh most would be nearlyt 10hp from an intake swap. the factory cam and intake will support nearly 400hp with good heads though.

if you are going to be using stock heads you will see mabey 2hp difference as the heads are restricting the power now. in 1993 Cobra motor was fitted better flowing GT40 iron cylinder heads, 1.7:1 roller rockers, a unique Cobra upper manifold and GT40 lower manifold. The better flowing intake tract was supported with a larger 65mm throttle body and mass air meter calibrated for 24lb/hr fuel injectors. A special camshaft was designed for the Cobra motor. All told the Cobra 5.0L motor was rated at 235 HP/280 ft.lb. Torque, 30 more horsepower than the standard Mustang 5.0L engine that year.
