How much do you think I"m looking at for a full paint job in my 87 GT? Don't want the Maaco special, and I don't need the $20,000 triple red deluxe either.

Color will be metallic grey (obviosly) and there is no under hood work, doorjambs, or anything else that needs done, just the skin. No rust or anything either.

Any thoughts about what I can expect to pay from a decent shop?

ya i had my 95 mustang quoted and the guy said 2500, but my was green, i know red paint jobs got much more

Thanks, mine is charcoal grey metallic so hopefully I could get in that same ballpark as you. Might depend on geography differences, too...

i think mine was a $2500 it's not the greatest

but it came w/ the car so i was happy

Beats the $299 Maaco special.

But if yours was red for $2500, maybe there's hope for me getting a decent grey one for $2500.

we got totally lucky. my friends uncle does body and is doing my bros car on the side for 1400 pluss supplies. he is completely sanding the car down to the bare metal, and doing it all. doorjams. hatch and all of that good stuff. i got a deal. i know a job like this would easily cost like 4k!

my buddy just got his done red and it looks nice.. he paid $1700

the guy i bought my car off had the paint quoted at $1500..
