Default tips on getting collectors to seal

it seems like everytime i do anything with taking off my midpipe i cant get the damn thing to seal again at header collector. i've tried everything i can think of (short of getting screen material and copper rtv and making a gasket) anyone have any tip or tricks. btw i am using an electric inpact wrench.

There might be whatg has created your little problem....

You probably already deformed the flanges and\or the "cone" of the header\exhaust manifold.....

Sorry to say; but i can't help you other than to suggest you take it appart again & carefully look at everything closely.....

loosen up your header bolts from your heads. so you can wiggle it a little, then snug everything up so it all fits good. then go back and tighten everything back up. might help?
