Default Gas Mileage Plummet + Engine noise.....

I've recently posted some threads about a rattling noise coming from my engine
Sounds like it is coming from the right side, deep in the engine, almost directly in front of the passenger side airbag (I think located somewhat near the flywheel)

So with this noise coming from who the hell knows what, I also noticed my gas mileage plummet.
Normally I get 200 - 220 miles on each tank (about 50 miles per 1/4)
I've used 3/4 of a tank so far, on I've only driven 88 miles. I should have about 150 miles, not only 88.
What can be causing this!?!

Could be a broken piston rod/ring or maybe even a bad head gasket.
