Default 5.0 and 5.0 HO

On my 90 lx my intake says 5.0 HO. I have seen other 5.0 intakes that say 5.0 EFI. So i take it mine is a high output 5.0. so my question is what are the differences bettween the 5.0 and the 5.0 HO, interms of everything not just horse power.

My only question what does HO mean, I thought it could mean high output, but compared to todays performance levels it almost comes off as a joke. EFI means electronic fuel injection.

ho means high output. and for the time these cars came out, they were pretty bad ***.

the difference between the 5.0 ho and say a 5.0 in a lincoln, from what i understand, were the heads. ho's had e7s and i dont know what the other ones had.

it all depends on the year of the engine, but on average, non-H.O.'s had cast pistons, different cam, E6SZ heads....

non-HO's also have different firing pattern.

the 5.0 HO used the 351W firing pattern.

I think that the regular 5.0 had 180 h.p. stock, it all depends on what year range of 5.0's that you are talking about.

mine is a 1990 HO. So how many more horses does a 90 HO have over a regular 90 5.0?
