oil leakage?

Default oil leakage?

okay so the other day i was changing my oil and when i got under the car there was some oil on my h-pipe (near the middle) and i looked up and there was som oil droppletts above it.. ugh but when the car is parked i do not notice n e oil on the ground or anything.. the oil pressure is fine but every once in a while i check the oil and it is lower than the last time i checked it.. does n e one kno what could be causing this? thanx

I agree that it sounds like a rear main seal. Not sure, but if your motor is getting up there in mileage, it might just be the nature of the beast. Probably nothing you can really do about it but keep checking and adding when necessary. Are you getting a lot of blow by?

5.0's are known for leaking rear mains, keep an eye on it and if it gets real bad you have to replace the gasket and yea its expensive.

well lets just say the tranny has to get pulled along with some other stuff thats in the way

the seal itself is like $20

your gunna be paying for hours of labor

you could do it yourself if you know how to pull a tranny

hrmph.. goddamn money pit lol.. well not really i just need to rebuild the trac loc and i wanna throw gears in there at the same time but i guess thats gonna have to wait for now if i gotta do this... cuz this is way more important
