Default Rich exhaust smell

Hey all, ever since doing my exhaust (MAC O/R X-Pipe, with Flows cat back) I've noticed a very rich exhaust smell, my assupmtion is because the cats have been eliminated. I don't think it should smell as rich as it has though. Along with this problem I have also noticed that fuel consumption has gone up quite a bit. At first I was driving it quite hard...cuz that's what sound does. I have tamed it down a lot in the past month, and have been driving very normal and within speed limits. So yeah, I believe I am burning more fuel then I should be. All advice and feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I feel like I am having the same problem just with a SLP catback. It seems like my gas mileage has take a significant hit. People are telling me that its because Im driving it harder which may be true but not that much. I dunno, maybe Im just nuts [&:]

hahahaha, thanks guys...yeah this must be a normal incident when installing an O/R mid pipe. I was thinking a sensor in my engine management system must be hooped. I dunno...we'll see.

Are your o2 sensors reinstalled properly, they relay back to the fuel system and narrowband to adjust air fuel ratio. Have you checked your plugs to see if there running rich? How much of a difference in consumption?

I'm about to buy a car that has the same problem...the exhaust smells rich, and you can even smell it in the cabin. It has no cats on it, stock exhaust manifolds, and different mufflers (I think he said they were called super turbo mufflers, or something). He also complained about the gas mileage being bad...the present owner gets no more than 18-20 on the highway, and the engine is completely stock. Although, it has 3.73 gears, so that might explain the gas mileage going down. So is there anything I should check besides the O2 sensors?
