Well I've got the money for the converter and then some right now, I just like to keep a certain amount of money in the bank just incase something expensive breaks. It's okay, one more week and I'll have enough to get the converter and the new valve body. My street tires are going to hate me...

Believe me, there are worse things... My new stang has been sitting in my garage for a month now, and will be there for at least another week. Then, providing my foot cast does come off, I will finally be able to drive it[:@]

I was told from a guy that builds custom converters that with the distance and time that the car is driven every day that a 3000 rpm stall would drive me nuts, maybe he was talking about a non-lock up converter. But anyways he told me that I'd be way happier with a 2500 rpm converter for a DD. But now that I think about it, never mind about the mild street edge, I'm going to shell out 100 more bucks and just get the 3000 rpm lock-up, it shouldn't drive me nuts and if it does, I'll sell it to one of you guys and go with the 2500.

your converter has to be matched to your combo....Dont listen to what people on here say, call the converter company and tell them your combo, and what your intentions are. They are the experts.....

Here's what I got back from Andre at Edge Convertors...

Hello Daniel, and thanks for inquiring,

I recommend a custom configured converter from our "Street Edge" series with stall math set between 2800-3000 rpm, and STR set at, or near 2.50.

The converter upgrade wont ADD horse power, BUT it will deliver the HP you have much more efficiently. The increase in STR will pull you off the line at wide open throttle, or light the tires!
This converter uses the 245mm (9.5") impeller and turbine (furnace brazed).
The 9.5" impeller is the most efficient impeller ever adapted into
performance applications. With 8 impellers and 8 stators to select from this
converter can be truly custom configured with no cutting or bending inside
the converter. This means better launches are a guarantee, better mid range
response is guaranteed and no excess heat or loss of topend, guaranteed!

All the gains while retaining 100% of the manners needed for every day street use!
All wear surfaces are fitted for enclosed Torrington bearings for less
drag and improved longevity in performance application. The drive hub and
spline insert of made of 4130 chrome moly steel. Anti balloon measure is
standard.

Warranted for a full year with our 100% money back satisfaction guarantee.
The "Street Edge" AOD sells for 495.00 plus shipping
Please let me know if you have other questions, or call us at 888 350 EDGE

Great info, I'm sold, no more ****in around, I'm getting the 3000 rpm lock up converter from edge and that is that!!! I always do this before I buy something.

I matched my converter to my cam. When I ordered my cam from Comp they recommended what stall I needed. Mine works great and its only a 2500 stall

I posted this the other night and have changed my mind to a 2500 or 2600 stall. When you are under 3K with a 3K stall you constantly are making more heat and not getting all the HP you can.....

I think the 2500 or 2600 can suit a DD better although mines not but hell I'm not racing for a living either??? I want driveable HP not some BS that I have to work on or pull over when it gets hot.....
