347 Build Need Help

ok well i talked to one of my instructors today and he has a 302 sportsman block never been touched except for when he put main studs on, for 900 so im thinkin im gonna do that and the homework he gave us today was to build an engine, so tonight im going to plan out everything i need build this engine, theres just the small little things like what rocker ratio what size push rods what valve springs and what valve im gonna use once i figure all this out there should be no problem on figuring out what im going to need to get my 400 rwhp goal

a girdle doesnt do anything except hold the internals in if the block splits

i girdle holds the main caps together as the 302 does not have the required strength to do so, it is made so you do not have any shifting or flex under high load. high rpm's make the caps wobble.
