Default Victor Jr. intake

Yeah it's big, but i'm looking at it for the rev ranges i'll be working with.
It says on the summit website that it has no provisions for a rear water crossover.
Is this absolutely necessary for the cooling system to properly operate? I've got the windsor Sr. Heads (HUGE cast irons).

Just installed Forged pistons, rods, and crank. Balanced and blueprinted, DSS main girdle, Canton Oil pan, Dart Windsor SR. heads, Lunati 5014 cam 220/226 duration at .050 .500/.512 lift, Pro-magum roller rockers (1.7), right now it's got a performer 289 intake (choke point), 850 DP carb, NOS sniper kit (no giggle gas yet), BUILT C4, Hedman long tubes, 3 inch exhaust w/OR H pipe, 3" warlocks with Electric cutouts, MSD 7AL-M2, All MSD ignition, ZEX plugs, crappy 1800 stall converter (replacement coming).

The engine's out of the car at the machine shop getting align honed and being prepared for all the goodies.
I'm going to need some type of single plane high rise intake, the Victor Jr. i figured would be a tried and true method, or I was looking at an RPM air gap, in the last 50mustang magazine it tested marginally lower than the Victor but it made up for it in the bottom end.
let me know what you think guys.
