Where is the fuel pump located on these cars (SN 95 and Fox)? Is it outside of the fuel tank, or does the tank have to be dropped?

Had a problem similar to this.... My 95 GT has just under 60K on it and about a year ago it started stalling when it was warmed up.. It would then take about 15 to 20 minutes before it would start again.. As far as getting a read out on a diag test, the only way a shop could do so is if it actually stalls when they are trying to get a code read.. I know my issue was a headache and ended up costing the ford dealership a lot of money because they could not figure out what the issue was..(had to eat labor costs, diag costs, rental car fee) They replaced the iac motor and told me that was the issue.. The next day, the same thing happened again, I was pissed..... Especially since the head mechanic was adament that this was the issue...! Long story short, the ford delearship had it for 3 weeks and couldnt figure it out.. So I did my research and brought it down to my mechanic (who lives about 2.5 hrs from me).... Turns out it was the Stator Assembly / Pickup Coil... Not too expensive of a part, you just have to pull the distributor to put it in... From what you are telling me, it sounds like the same issue... What I found out from my research of this issue, this problem was notorious on 95's... Just be cautios in bringing it to a dealership, they will tell you all kinds of different things are wrong simply because they can't get the computer to tell them what is wrong.. Not many "good" mechanics out there anymore that don't solely rely on a computer... They are lost when it doesn't tell them what's wrong..! I'd just let them know you want the Stator/Pickup coil replaced and start there.. Hope this helps, I know this was a pain in the *** for me for about a month before it was resolved....Other's w/ the same issue replaced everything you could think of before realizing what it was.. Learn from our mistakes.. Hope this helps ya, sorry for the novel!

Also forgot to mention that I was experiencing long cranks as well.. After replacing this part, the car has fired up just like she should ever since.!

We have found LC's problem. It is the fuel pump.
He came over today to pop his guage on my car...mine primed at 40psi, then idled at 32, and driving was at 40 (my car has a new pump). He went home to his car..it primed at 20 and idled at 26 psi and owuldn't go higher. He has yet to test his 'stang once it stalls, though.
Almost 100% it's the pump.

Don't kid yourself. On the new chebbys, if they run 5psi under what they are supposed to, they won't run right.

Pro SC said earlier it should be at 40psi.
