Depends on what he wants to do with the car...I wouldn't spend any money on nitrous though. But that's just my opinion. I personally am opposed to using nitrous. I'd rather spend that same money on a mechanical upgrade that doesn't wear out as quickly and can be used all the time.
I second the suspension/chassis mods idea. Full-length subframes, coils/struts/shocks, strut tower brace, battery relocate, 4.10's, and then you still have a couple hundred for some cheap engine mods.
