Default Throttle body spacer

what does the throttle body spacer do? would it help out with TQ or HP? Is it even worth getting a throttle body with the mods I have? (listed in the signiture) If I were to get a throttle body should i think about the spacer? or would it mess up the CAI I'm planning to get? Thanks for the help.
