Default Is it just my car?

Every morning when i go to work(which is only 5 miles away) my car runs like a champ and idles great. But if i go out cruising, after the engine warms up completely, my car feels a little sluggish and the idle will take a few seconds to fall to regular idle. Its also been a really hot summer. Does this happen to anyone else?

Its a brand new motor. It just feels like im ragging on the car by driving it long periods in the heat... The engine should be runnin fine seeing that its brand new, with a fluidyne radiator and new water pump, but that fan likes to come on ever few minutes in stop and go traffic. My old stock engine did the same thing.

yeah.. it feels like it loses a lot of power once the engine is warmed up. I also hear the lifters more when the engines hot.

Check your EGR valve or IAC; they may need to be cleaned.

Defietly wouldnt hurt..... especially if your motor isnt running right once is hits a certain temperature.

This may or may not make sense, but you might try cleaning your MAF. Aside from the floating idle, it sounds like you may be running rich after you warm up. On another note, does your temp gauge read high once the car is warmed up?

By the way, I should say that every vehicle I've ever owned has felt a little "soft" in hot weather. I think that's normal.
