Default What would you do?

I have a '88 LX 5.0 Hatchback and a '87 4 cyl. Convertible. The plan was to make the 'vert a 5.0 by switching all the v-8 parts to the vert, but the more I look at it the more work it looks like. Both cars need some work but the stuff the LX needs (Tires, exhaust, interior touchup, paint) would be replaced during the swap anyway.
Would you do it or ditch the vert and build the LX?

Id stick with the true 5.0 car. I also like the looks of the Hatchback better (just my opinion). You can get many of the part you need to fix up your interior from 5.0 resto and ebay.

Keep the 5.0 Bro. I have hears time and time again about problems, and unexpected expenses that come along with the swap. You could always sell both, and pick up a decent 5.0 vert. I intend to sell my gt for a vert come winter. The verts are cheap in winter time!Good luck either way!

go with the vert, much better insurance rates. its nice to have the top down on sunny days. you can sell the hatch shell to drag racer when you are done with it.

I am not sure where you live, but in VA, verts have higher insurance than hatches. I would stick with the hatch, but I am partial to them. Just my 2 cents.

Keep the 5.0 hatch, sell the 4 cyl, used the money to restore the 5.0

I got a vert too man and I love it... top down... cruising. but anyways if you do the swap the verts have stronger motor mounts and i'd suggest full length subframe connectors. Then you ahve a shell to sell or to keep and build over a few years into maybe a 351W stroked and s/c for the 1/4 mile? i dunno its up to you and what you want, how much time and money you have available and if you can do alll the work yourself. Good Luck and either way you'll have a stang
