get some gears if you don't have any, From what I have heard, gears and tourqe converters go hand in hand.

I just ordered a Edge racing converters - Mild Street Edge 2600 stall for my PA AOD equipped 5.0... The guy attempted to talk me into 3000 stall which is fine, but i think that the bit lower stall is going to be better oriented for my daily driver and my style of driving (i drive like a grandma, quite honestly). But you also gotta remember Brand X's 2500 stall converter wont be the same as Brand Y's 2500 stall converter. Comparing a B&M to an Edge, from everything i've read, is like comparing a Miata to a Porsche... sure they both might be convertible sports cars of comparable size, but the porsche is probably going to outperform it in most every way except price.

you should see if you can change your order.

first of all whats the power curve of the cam not real high..a 3000 stall make make the tires spin quicker...but u are losin good power curve torq and hp...if your cam is a 1200-4200 stall and u get a 3000 stall..u have 1200 rpms of usuable power...if u get a 2300 u get more room for your engine to use power...motor will peak faster with a 3000 then a 2300... bigger, higher isnt allways better////a stock aod stall around 16-1800 i think..so a 23-2400 is good because u want to stall about 500 rpms above where ya cam starts makin power for performance...just cuz ya spin tires more doesnt mean ya 1/4 mile is less

i hvae a 200 stall from ford racing it says its 600 rpm above stock, now i only paid 25.00 for it new in the box, the kid blew the aod before install and went with a C4..he said give him some gas moeny and i could have the converter..so now from what i'm hearing i have a 91 aod with 2.5 header back exhaust with high flow cats and flowmaster and 4:10...is this converter a waste of time?

Not if it was only 25 bucks, put it in and see what you think, if you don't like it, take it out sell it on ebay for big bucks and buy an Edge.

ORIGINAL: lookinforastangso many people get < 3000 because they fear it's too much yet everyone with a 3000 is happy and everyone who went less isnt 3000 is fine on a street cari wouldnt even try launching at 3000 without a shift kit.. your tranny is gunna go kaboom!
You don't launch a car at it's converter's rated stall! Just launch at 1200rpm's and the converter will flash up to and beyond it's rating a bit. Mark
