Snap, Crackle, POP....
Goes my clutch cable! [:@]
Just as I was pulling out of work, there goes the pedal to the ground. Had to push the 'ol girl back to the parking lot and leave her there overnight. Hey, at least a couple of the gals from the office helped me push her.... LOL
Anyways, I've got a Steeda clutch quadrant and BBK firewall adjuster. I just went to Autozone and grabbed an OEM replacement cable. I would have ordered something better online, but I need to get this fixed tomorrow. My questions are.....
1. Will I have any problems with an OEM cable and the above aftermarket parts?
2. What tools will I need to do the job. I going to be a parking lot mechanic, so I need to know everything possible I need to bring. Work is 20 miles away, and a drive home to get a wrench would suck.
3. Any tips for the install? looks pretty simple and straighforward but I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks in advance for the help,
Mike

RE: Snap, Crackle, POP....
10mm to get access to the cable at the fork end. a couple screw drivers, if your planning on installing the firewall adjuster... dont
save it for another time when you can have a drill handy
unless ofcourse you have the quadrant and adjuster already installed..
bring a few adjustable wrenches, and the small end of a metric socket and combo wrench kit

You'll need a 8mm (on mine) open wrench (remove cover) and two 13mm open wrench for the cable jamb numbs (check your first since it might be different than the cable I put in). Im not sure what size you need for where it attaches to the firewall or the quadrant though.
You'll also need a jack and a stand to do it comfortably. If you can find a ditch or soemthign that might help you a little.
