Default HELP! fast!!

I was just changing my oil and was tightining the oil rear oil pan plug and it wont tighten up!! It will look tight then it will almost be finger loose. Do I need to get an oversised oil pan plug before the parts store closes? Any sugestions? This is my dd and i need it fixed by tomorrow and if i need to go to a parts store what do i need. [:@]

Either that or the current plug is stripped. Generally the plug will strip before the pan threads will.

Proper fix, tap and die set. Chase the threads and get a new drain plug. Keep in mind drain plugs do not have to be super tight. 25ft.lbs. I believe is the torque spec. But if thats not an option, get a self tapping oversize drain plug and gasket.

yep

Now you have to be carefull when you are putting it in cuz alotta' times they want to go in crooked. This is very critical, make sure you get it in straight!!!!

DO NOT PUT IN A SELF TAPPING SCREW!!!!! They will frig up after so many oil changes and then you will be forced to buy a new oil pan. Just get the same as the original and be done with it. Sears almost had to buy me a new oil pan.
