I know this doesn't really answer your question... but if your tranny fluid is really bad off, maybe you should flush it instead of just dropping the pan and changing the fluid.

For the T5, buy 3 qts Mercon III ATF. The bottom plug (like was said above^^^^) is the drain plug. Drain it all out and put the bottom plug back in. Now take the top one out. If you have a pump then just run your hose into the top hole and fill it until it starts overflowing. If you don't have a pump, it's a lot easier to take the shifter off and pour it in there...just go slow so it has time to drain. When it comes out the fill hole, you're done.

I use Royal Purple 75w90 in the rear end. The rear end will also have a fill plug...if I remember correctly, it's on the driver's side at the top, kind of facing forward. You will want a pump b/c it's PITA otherwise (I know this from experience). To drain it, just loosen the bolts and pry the bottom of the diff cover off. Make sure you have a pan under it or it will make a huge mess.

for the rear end you really only need a synthetic 75w90 gear oil w/ a friction additive, you'll use 3 qts, but before you drain the fluid in there be sure you can get the fill plug out or else you'll be drilling a hole to fill the rear diff back up.

Sorry, I just saw this... RP 75w90 is all you need for the rear end and it has friction modifier in it. The Dexron is the same thing as Mercon III.

Already changed the motor oil and antifreeze, cleaned and re-oiled K&N, greased the front wheel bearings, put new front springs in her, tinted the windows yesterday. Going to buff the paint, and headlights this weekend. The fun never stops....lol
