^^^ Don't give up because of something stupid like this. If I were you, instead of replacing this and replacing that I would just get a full ignition. Even if you just went to a junkyard and got the ignition, coil, etc. out of a junker it would still work fine.

Don't give up.... it will make the car that much better when its finished.

Wow. I can't believe so many missed the point of my question. I'm just asking about the price of this repair and whether or not it is justified. I couldn't care less, frankly, whether some of you think I should sell the car or not. And Nadelle, what on earth gave you the idea that I don't want to fix anything? I was very specific in my post that electrical issues are not my thing. I've already made a number of mechanical repairs, and even a few minor electrical ones. Read the post carefully next time so you don't make stupid comments. Thanks to those that actually attempted to answer the question.

Well, sorry if I didnt answer your question before.

One, how many places have you taken it to? Is this the first place?

Two, to me it seems pretty high considering but less than that you can get a full MSD ignition and install it yourself (not that hard)

No problem. Nadelle seemed to get everyone off topic. Yes, this is the first place I've taken it. It had to be towed there, though, so I can really move it around from repair shop to repair shop.

It seems high to me, too, but I've never had this situation before. Thanks for your input.
