I second that - great post - thanks for taking the time to explain whats really going on here with ignition systems.

I've been thinking about the MSD equipment too. Heard mostly good things, some bad, but the consensus is that the hp gains are pretty small. Still I dig the idea of getting the most from my electrical system.

Since you have the MSD coil also they do MSD also sells a wire kit that requires no splicing and such that goes from the box to the coil. Its only $18 http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku Might be to your liking?

when i put my Hi-6 box in i noticed i got about 1-1 1/2 more miles to the gallon with it, better throttle response to.

And it took me like 30 min to put it it, hardest part is routing the wires, i mounted mine on the side of the passenger side trannsmission tunnel. They get pretty hot though, my girlfriend burned her leg on it when i first met her. But its not a big problem, just put some rubber bushings between it and what ever you mount it to.

Good luck.

Oh..and i would have gotten the MSD, but i just hate having to control my rev limiter with those little chips. On Hi-6, its got a little dial you turn and control it. Very nice. MSD is nice to, got a MSD 7al box on my dads camaro.

That's good to know and I appreciate your input. Did you by chance by the wire kit mentioned in an earlier thread? Also was it hard to access the passenger side transmission tunnel?

I might just get it installed, but mightn take it on myself, if it's not too much of a headache/knucklebuster.

I don't know much about the rev limiter, so is there anything I need to keep in midn when installing/setting this?
