How special is a 83 Gt vert?
My father got a 1983 Mustang Gt vert it was a 5.0 5 speed but now it is just a 5.0 auto, the motor is from a 1990 mustang gt auto. anyway he's thinking of taking it back to numbers matching with 5 speed since the guy who converted it left the clutch cable and clutch pedel in the car lol but is it really worth it? (pic's will be on tomorrow)

the car isnt very special but i would get that dogomatic out of there and get a 5 speed and convert it back to carb they are very nice cars basicly it comes down to your personal value of the car what it means to you

ah someone told him that the 83 gt verts were fairly rare like 900 or so made or something. The car is still carb the intake/ distrib is from an 83 (prolly the originals) the heads/block and every thing else with the motor are 90 mustang i beleive the trans is also out of a 90.

keep the engine in there and just swap out the trans they are nice cars and pretty quick at least my 84 hatch is i personaly think the value of the 4 eyes should be going up because there arent to many of them left on the road yet its the 87-93's that are going up in value
